Lotus, Nissan, BMW cars, even Jeep, all owe their beginnings to the Austin 7. It's really amazing, really.

#4, -The Lotus MkI was a modified Austin 7.
-The first Nissan cars, like this one, were unauthorized copies of the Austin 7.
-The first BMW car, the Dixi, was a licensed copy of the Austin 7.
-The WWII Jeep's original designer, American Bantam (née American Austin), started out making licensed copies of the Austin 7 for the American market, and in fact, their Jeep prototype was based on a heavily modified Austin 7 chassis.
