gm keeps doing this and its not good. they use a lot of the same models, then just slap on different badging.

#3, ah, gotcha.. a little reasearch yielded:

it's sold in Mexico as the G4, and in Canada as the Pursuit.. and not sold in the US

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Cobalt ... under "Model Variations"

technically, since they don't sell it in the US.. who cares if it's a rebadging..

#4, Because it saves money?

What - you think they are the only ones who rebadge existing cars in the same market? Camary vs. ES330?

Just about everyone is using massive platform sharing these days. Ford, Mazda, and Volvo are using each others' platforms a lot, and Chrysler/Dodge are milking the LX platform for everything it's worth.

#4, platform sharing has been around since the rise of the assembly line. get over it.

these pursuits are muchly cleaner looking cars than the cobalt... partially because of the not so odd looking tail lights... they are much more normal triangle lights

...I actually considered a used one in my car hunt... except the Mitsubishi dealer that was selling it was pulling the standard "hide the price and/or manipulate the price" bullshit... moved along pretty quickly.

I almost never see these anymore. Cobalt four doors are kind of common here, but the coupes didn't last. Oddly enough, it's the reverse with Cavaliers and Sunfires. The last examples of either I saw actually driving and not derelict were both two doors.
