Description:
Bill Elliott preparing to go out for the afternoon test at Daytona earlier today... in the #36 MB Motorsports Chevy.

If he makes the 500, it'll be Elliott's first NASCAR race in a Chevrolet since 1979.

...and oh yeah, he was fastest in the afternoon test. Outrunning the likes of Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. GO AWESOME BILL!

#6, I've given up on people who have nothing better to do than stand on their own little mountain of smugness and bash something popular because it doesn't meet their personal approval.

#7, I wish I had a mountain of smugness, alls I have is a small pile of dirt and rocks, and I can't really stand on it. But seriously, I gave NASCAR a chance and watched a few races, other than the crashes it doesn't do anything for me. I don't know how someone can sit and watch a bunch of cars drive in an oval for 500 laps and stay riveted to the screen...

#9, same. I also thought monster trunks were for drunk rednecks, then i got bored and watched it on Speed (the channel). It was awesome. Some guy's move is a backwards jump, another guy went before him and did his move....so the original guy did two jumps backwards! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW!

#9, Bill Elliott retired from full-time competition after the 2003 season, since then he's been driving part-time, picking and choosing races. Terry Labonte's done basically the same thing, retired after the 2004 season, and has been driving part-time since.

that's too confusing:p

That's why NASCAR makes little sense to me. All these cups and part time and yadda yadda...:p

I don't like NASCAR much at all but I don't despise it. It's boring and full of crass commercialism and not nearly as intersting as Le Mans, KART, or Auto X. But then again all sports have their boring moments, I can't watch baseball without feeling my eyelids droop...
