Description:
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion.
This movie is a mindfuck. Well, so is the TV series, but this one moreso. |

I know, I know I've let you down.
I've been a fool to myself.
I thought that I could live for no one else.
But now, through all the hurt and pain,
it's time for me to respect
the ones you love mean more than anything.
So with sadness in my heart,
I feel the best thing I could do
is end it all and leave forever.
What's done is done, it feels so bad.
What once was happy now is sad.
I'll never love again;
my world is ending.
I wish that I could turn back time,
'cause now the guilt is all mine.
You can't live without the trust from those you love.
I know we can't forget the past;
you can't forget love and pride.
Because of that, it's killing me inside.
It all returns to nothing.
It all comes tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down.
It all returns to nothing.
I just keep letting me down, letting me down, letting me down.
In my heart of hearts,
I know that I could never love again.
I've lost everything...
everything...
everything that matters to me, matters in this world. |

I love anime, but this series is so overrated that it's ridiculous. Clunky plotline, plastic characters. |

I felt it started off pretty good, but it just never kept up the goodness.
I had a hell of a time even getting through the last few episodes. And other than one cool fight, EoE wasn't very good either.
All told, I won't be watching it again. |

#8, Episodes 25 and 26 (I'm told by a fan) were dismissable. That first time viewers should just watch eps. 1 - 24 - ignore the last two - and go right on to d&r and eoe. |

I've been watching what they'll air on CN, just so I wont' be in the dark when people start talking about it, has it's moments, and even if the plot is convoluted and depressing, it's eye candy that doesn't disappoint. |

#9, The Platinum boxset is set up perfectly for someone to make the choice of which ending to watch...
Disc 5 is episodes 21-26 in their original form.
Disc 6 is episodes 21-24 as "Directors Cut" versions with extra scenes put in to lead up to this movie, in fact, the preview of the "Next Episode" on the Director's Cut episode 24 is a preview of the first half of EoE, not episode 25.
So one can conceivably skip Disc 5 altogether, watch Disc 6, then watch EoE, and it'd be basically seamless.
The whole "Death & Rebirth of Evanglion" movie is kinda confusing where it fits in... in all reality, the first half of it is a compressed version of the Director's Cut versions of episodes 21-24, and the second half of it is the first half of EoE... so basically, Death & Rebirth is a ripoff :P |
