#3, Yuppers, Pontiacs are bigger cars but they aren't terribly heavy. The G and W bodies have that nice big wheel base and it doesn't feel like you're driving a tank around corners. I'm trying not to sound like a fanboy here, but I like what I like

#4, Indeed. I will agree to both. One of our freinds has a 2002 SSEi and damn it's a nice car.

#6, FWD sucks but these things weight about the same as a Mustang, and considering the size that's not too bad

The 03-04 cobras were 3600 something, the GTs were something like 3300 and the 05+ is 3500 something.

#8, Well considering the size of the W and G bodies, their weight isn't too obnoxious. Later model SVT Cobras are over the 3600 lb mark thanks to their beefy engine blocks. The GXP weighs about 150 lbs more than an 06 Mustang GT, and I guess that just goes to show how beefy the Stang has gotten while Pontiacs weight has stayed nearly the same for a while. Hell the base model Charger weighs the same as a GXP and has not only smaller dimensions, but a much smaller engine.

Again, let me state that I'm not trying to sound like a Pontiac fanboy, I'm just stating fact

#9, I wanted to say that 1500kg for a fullsize V8 coupe wasn't bad but then I rememberd that my little R5 weighs 1600 pounds. So now I think Stangs are heavy as shit XD

#10, the blown cobras are fucked over weight wise, the GTs also run an iron block but they lack so much of the shit the cobras had that the weight isn't that bad. Power makes some extra weight less noticable though.

#12, True, better to have a fat ass car that can run a sub 13 1/4 mile than just a fat ass car

#11, Apples and oranges on that one, mustangs aren't lightweights but they aren't tanks either.

Out of curiosity I just looked up the curbweights of a 05 GXP(3790) and an 05 GT (3450), the GXP appears to be 340lbs heavier.

My mom's got an '03 SSEi. Before I got my 'Bird I really liked it. After having mine, however, my mom's car makes me feel like I'm driving around in a big fat guy. They're surprisingly not that roomy, it feels like it handles like a damn boat, and it's nice and torque-steery with the s/c.

Yeah I really wish gm would stop screwing around with push rod V6's and start moving on to something more worth while.

Discount the fact that it's been proven to be reliable, is relatively efficient, is easy to tune for performance... I mean, it's physical size is GINORMOUS so it must be crap... and LOL it doesn't have OHC, so makes it double crap LOL :P
