#2, You'd be surprised... it's a modern paradox in the car industry; the smaller the car, the more room there seems to be for the front passengers...
With large cars, automakers feel they have "freedom" to cocoon the driver with intrusive "fancy" door panels, center consoles, "driver oriented" dashboards, etc.
...with small cars, they attempt to make them "feel" larger, by pushing everything as far away from the driver as possible, which actually MAKES them larger.
