#8, Only by a hundred pounds or so, but that's still tipping the scales for a serious performance built car |

Does it still have an axle from a semi truck at the back? |

I didn't know the new Mustangs had an exceptionally large axle. |

#14, It took me a second to realize that you're solid axle bashing again.
Yes, it has a solid axle, and yes, it can outhandle just about anything. |

#15, Somehow I seriously doubt it. But that's not the point. I always say it's the driver not the machine. And I know it has some advantages. The point is: a solid axle has no place in modern performance cars IMO. |

#15, Even with the front ind. macphersons and the panhard rods for the rear, I dont think the 4k lb curb weight will work any wonders. |

#16, A regular Mustang GT slaloms at 67 mph and pulls well over .9 lateral gs on the skidpad. The GT500 will have improved suspension.
As for your main point, I say: Why not? Ford was certainly justified, maintaining that the majority of Mustang fans didn't care, and the few that did wanted the solid axle for its dragstrip advantages. When you also factor in the cost (saves Ford an estimated $5000 per car, which is why they're as cheap as they are) and the simplity of the design, it makes perfect sense. |

Completely off the handling subject, 500hp and only a 0-60 of 4.5? |

#19, Not only is 4.5 EXTREMELY quick, you also have to factor in that it's a two ton car without an abundance of low-end torque. |
