Skid shuffled down the sidewalk, jacket slung over shoulder. He stifled a yawn and tried to ignore the swimming feeling of sleepiness as he neared the a driveway. A store? He couldn't tell.
"I need caffeine....now," he muttered as he started up the driveway.
Nearing the front of the building, he noticed most of the people on the grounds were wearing hideous plaid clothing, and a couple of them were zipping around in white EZ-GOs.
"Great. A country club."
Skid turned on his heel and started back down the driveway, when a silver Bentley Arnage drew up silently. His jaw dropped at the spotless, expensive automobile. A balding man hopped out and tossed a set of keys at him. Skid looked down, confused.
"Don't scratch it, boy," the man said gruffly as he pushed past.
Skid watched the man walk into the club and stifled the urge to kick him in the scrotum. He looked down at the keys in his hand and beamed deviously.
"How many chances do I get?"
