It looks a little like a Chrysler turbo engine, but I'm probably wrong.

I never knew Chrysler did turbo'ed motors. Learn something new each day. What did those things power? and what kind of figures did they make?

#13, They made a whole bunch of turbo I4s for their FWD cars throughout the 80s. Usually 2.2L, anywhere from mid-100s to low 200s in stock HP, with the potential for a good bit more.

That's actually pretty cool. I just didn't associate American marques with turbos, ignorant as that sounds.

The turbo Chryslers from the '80s is probably one of the better performance-car secrets out there, along with the SVO Mustangs...

...it's just the mindset that American domestics need 8 cylinders in a V formation to be a performance vehicle that puts those turbo 4s out of the conciousness.

Also, for interesting engines with less than eight cylinders, there's always the Buick GN/Pontiac GTA, Ford Supercoupe, and Pontiac GTP/Buick GS.

#16, Worth noting that the turbo 2.3 was as/more powerful than the 302 of the time.

#16, To a small extent, it's the same in Australia/New Zealand as well. Falcons and Commodores are just not considered performance unless they have a bent 8. That's kinda changing with the XR6 Turbo/ FPV typhoon, which are actually quicker, or damn near quicker than their XR8/GT counterparts. But there's still a GET A V8 mentality amongst the people who are allergic to japanese/asian cars.

Very cool, but doesn't look very well engineered at all.
