Oh, so they've updated it so it "resembles" (term used loosely) the NEWEST Escudo/Vitara? I remember for a short while it resembled the Aerio/Liana.

I'm still amazed that they can even find people to drive these suicide machines.

#2, it's just the one madman, isn't it? Monster Tajima. Seen him, and the Escudo at the Race to the Sky a couple of times, pretty insane. And the car is mental too.

I don't know how many drivers they've got; but the insanity of it amazes me. I mean, cripes. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/...on/default.aspx I mean, I know they've got lots of downforce, but screw up and you're going to be dead before you even know it.

and on roads with NO room for error, at all. You don't hit a wall, you plummet thousands of feet down. Tajima has cojones that make steel look weak.

#6, Exactly. I mean, heck, they stopped doing Group B rally for a reason, and those cars had less power. Of course, they also had less downforce, but at least they weren't constantly in danger of shooting off a cliff at 100+ MPH.

#9, Midland wasn't in F1 in 2000: Jordan was.

And I don't know about Tajima driving this, he's the boss of Suzuki rally dept (Ignis/Swift S1600, now WRC car) for some time... but I guess he can still leave the office once a year ;)

How many people died in Race to the Sky over the years? Nordschleife claimed 150 lives until 1975... and still counting... (several people a year, almost exclusively "civilians" nowadays).

#11, Not that many. Possum Bourne is the only big name I can think of (Australasian rally legend). But that was a freak accident, he had a head on collision with a car coming the other way during recce. It's not actually that old an event, 11 or 12 years maybe.

And Tajima does drive this thing. And well. Trust me.

#12, On Pikes Peak:
-first attemp by a motor car: 1901 (Locomobile Steamer)
-first race: 1916
-this year's race was the 84th Pikes Peak hillclimb
-track record: Rod Millan (Toyota Celica) 10:4,06, Toyota Celica.
"Monster" Tajima has problems with the reliability of his, er... monsters and has failed to beat Millan's record.

#13, Just to clarify, the race to the sky is a local New Zealand event. And Tajima has won the last few years. Not to be confused with Pikes Peak, not that I'm saying you did.

#16, I did confuse it. Somewhere I found this name being used for Pikes Peak. Don't know why.
