#3, Well, I think the World Cup of Grass Diving distracted the Europeans long enough for there to be a gap in the rioting/protesting about anything and everything... I mean, yeah, they could have been rioting ABOUT the World Cup, but they were too glued to their TVs to do so :P

My mother described how it was actually very eerie to be walking through the streets of Saint Jean de Luz in the evening, with the streets being empty, and all the restaurants with hardly anyone in them, except for the ones that had TVs with you-know-what-playing on them.
