Yes, I posted the pic in the forums too... but I find this picture amazing. It shows two things. One is the horrific body roll this car has but without a tendency to roll over as far as my ass can tell (it just doesn't feel like it wants to tip over... weird), the other is that my driving style has changed. A couple of weeks ago I practiced with some good experienced drivers and it opened my eyes.

Now I don't fuck around anymore. I drive flat out, brake hard and late, fling the little POS into the corners and beat the crap out of it in general. You simply have to drive like this if you have 45hp.

So, like I've asked before! Does this thing really have a longer wheelbase on one side?

#3, Nope. 2nd gen R5 was a fairly standard car compared to earlier wacky French vehicles.

#4, Uhm. Fairly standard.
McPherson sturts + antiroll bar at the front but... the rear suspension is weird. You have a beam with two torsion bars inside. This is bolted to the body. At the ends of this beam you have two short trailing arms that are close to horizontal position, as are shocks. There are no springs, and the rear ARB isn't connected to the body at any point... The result is an incredible tail-happiness for a FWD car.

#6, This little fucker actually spun on me and two passengers on the way to the rally. Long, gentle downhill bend, it was wet. I coast down the road with a bit of braking applied. And suddenly without a warning the POS starts to violently tighten the turn. I countersteer, let the brake go, mash the gas. This does nothing, there simply isn't enough time for the car to react, besides, another car is approaching from the opposite direction and I'd hate to overcorrect and crash into him. So I just give up and lock all four wheels to stop the spin. That did shit and we did an almost full 360, bumping twice off the high hard shoulder. I started the engine and drove off. The car handled weird for a couple of km but it settled down eventually.
