#1, It's the small one, 2.5l. The big one is the 3.2l. Yeah it fits... barely.

#4, Don't know about that. The previous gen mid-sized Alfa (155) that also had the 2.5 V6 was based on a Fiat Tipo and looking into my father's Tipo engine bay it is wider than longer. Some tunnel cutting for the gearbox would be necessary.
