Description:
Since I'm reading Christine a second time, here's a 58 Plymouth Fury for the hell of it.

No, that is not a 1958, nor is it a Fury. It's a '59, and judging from the lack of sidetrim, it appears to be a base-model Plymouth.

I think also, that either all or none of the 58 Fury's are red, too.

#2, No. All 1958 Furys were WHITE. In the book version of Christine, it is stated that the owner specifically ordered his Fury to be painted red. If you look at the opening scene of the movie, all the cars on the line except for Christine are white.

#8, Why what? Why the original owner specifically ordered his car to be red, or why all the other cars were white?

... answer to first question: No fucking clue.
... answer to second question: Because they're all Furys... and all Furys are white, except for the one fictional Fury.

#10, The Fury was a special edition car at the time... the color combination was a rather loud of way of stating "I HAVE A FURY! THE TOP OF THE LINE PLYMOUTH!"

#3, Technically, they were Bucksin Beige....a very tannish shade. And none of the cars that appeared on the factory line in the movie were real Furies, since none of them had the requisite gold-plated trim.

Hard to tell what trim-level this '59 is....given the fact that it's a mild custom (spinner caps, headlights covers, pearl paint), I could believe that the side trim has been shaved.

It actually doesn't look too bad with all the side trim shaved. It lets the tail fins speak for themselves as a styling statement without relying on additional gaudy chrome spears and contrasting paint to dress the car up. I like it.

I'd like to see it with some sort of side trim. Maybe some cut-down 1950 Ford Crestliner side trim, backwards on the rear quarters, with the two-tone carried to the inside.
