Yeah, that's it, just keep cutting jobs and lowering costs. IT'S THE PRODUCT DUMBASS!!! make a decent car that people want to drive and you won't vanish from the face of the earth. More Focuses, less 500/Freestar etc.

http://www.caradisiac.com/media/ima...-s-max-2big.jpg
I wonder if Ford is going to sell it here after they discontinue the Freestar? It's a definate improvemnt.

#2, My family were all big Ford fans, but that couldn't last. Mom switched because she's 4'10" and couldn't get adjustble pedals in anything but large SUVs. My older sister will never own a Ford again, because her 2000 minivan is a hunk of shit with no end to the troubles. My little sister's Mercury Sable is 10 years newer than my SAAB and has 10 times the problems.

It's just ridiculous that it never occurs to FoMoCo to, you know, not suck. Stop badge engineering, make reliable cars, stop relying on Explorer sales alone. Also, the 3-bar grill is not "bold," it's "ugly."

Ford: Cutting our losses again and again and again and again and again and again and again...but at least we've got Kelly Clarkson!

I think Ford needs to stop giving us shit, and give us what they give the Europeans. They get the good looking Focus, the Fiesta (yes I know, but still), a rather nice looking Mondeo, and they get the Escape and Ranger in diesel form. All we get that's exciting is the Mustang and the V6 powered Fusion. Even the new Mustang has stopped being "exciting" for me.

#6, They're cutting 2,000 jobs in Dearborn :(

I'm still wondering how Bill Ford hasn't been lynched yet.

#9, I think he needs to stop whitewashing everything and raise more public awareness of Ford's plight. Like Turrboenvy, said the company needs to stop relying on big, ugly SUVs and start working towards more reliable cars and minivans. I also think they'd benefit from giving the stock market the finger and going private.

#11, agreed, agreed. It seems the companies overseas are the only one who know whats up. Even Dodge is relying way too much on the Ram. The Caliber didn't even deliver its' 35+ MPG promise, except for with a diesel, which WE don't get. Also, Charger, while being a great car isn't everyones cup of tea. I love Euro Ford. Posibbly my favorite US company right now is Saturn. Why? The Sky and Aura.

#13, Well, in Michigan, newer F-150's and Ram 1500's are selling like hotcakes. People seem to be ignoring the mid-size/compact cars though, with the possible exception of the Zephyr/Milan/Fusion and, of course, the new Mustangs. Dealerships around here offer countless different types of sports packages for the V6 and GT models, and for the most part they're appealing to the public in a big way. Espescially to younger drivers.

#14, same with MN. I love the new Rams still, but honestly, if I were to get a new "car" car, it would most likely be a toss up between a Saturn Aura, or a new Monte Carlo SS.

#15, Call em' what you want, Ford and Chrysler's CUV's and Hydrid vehicles have been selling at a healthy rate lately.

#16, I might by Chrysler/Dodge before I bought GM only because I like the 300C and Magnum so much, even moreso now that they're selling the 300 Touring wagon at local dealers. But I wouldn't turn down a Saturn Sky, those are so popular that dealerships have run out of them until the end of the year

#17, wait, Chrysler sells 300 wagons now? Whoa. I kinda do like some of the "crossovers" but not much. I still like Mazdas full lineup, and the majority of Hondas'/Nissans'/Toyotas.
