*Cue up melodramatic music backed by sultry, light saxophone music.*

I love Mulholland this time of year. One of the few places in this crummy town where you can see the leaves change. I pull my sedan to the side of the road and cut the engine, which with one touch cuts from a powerful thrum to silence, punctuated by the occasional tick of the cooling block. I get out and look out over the City of Angels. But she's no angel, not like Diane was. Diane, with the soft skin. Diane, with the bluest eyes. Diane, lying in the bottom of a ravine with a rag in her mouth and bullet in her head. Diane, who got the hard goodbye 'cause she knew too much. Diane...who'll never know the pain of parking next to a broken down '82 Dodge Challenger and having the period-perfect vibe completely shattered.

Just looked it up, and I think you're right. It's apparently either a '40 or a '41 LaSalle.
