#19, I want to get the basics down before I humilate myself infront of others. I find the aspect of autocrossing and/or rallying much more appealing to me than drag racing, becase simply put, seeing cars go straight time after time bores me. Sure, it's nice to see 8 second cars, but whats the point if a fast/quick doesn't resemble the car it's "based on". I think better handling cars are better cars in general. |

#21, well, if you tried to autocross your Monte Carlo, you'd probably have to deal with quite a bit of roll and some nasty understeer. It would most likely be classed in H stock, so you may have a chance to do prety good.
There are some basics, but if you like to drive, you should pretty much understand them. I went slow on my first lap. Not grandma slow, but slow enough that I was able to get a feel for it. Once you do go out there, you'll notice it's actually pretty easy to do, and you'll start getting comfortable. Once you're there, you start going faster, and making turning in a tad different. It's intimidating at first, but just ask a lot of questions, and walk the course a lot with the stewards. It's the most fun I've ever had, seriously. Try it and you'll see why:) |

#24, I know enough about my car and understeer. My freind autocrosses alot in his WRX, and he has a '95 Corsica (yea a Corsica) and he is gonna be doing some snowcrossing this winter with it. There is a parkinglot by my dad's house, which I have easy access to, so I may set up practice courses this winter, and maybe get a feel for driving around the parking lot a bit. I am nervous about doing it simply because I am afraid to fuck up, but in all honesty, I really want to be good at it. I will just practice practice practice. This is the reason I want to learn stick. |

#27, Everyone fucks up though. There was a guy in a E46 M3 cabrio that only got one good lap in, because he kept going off course. He was trying too hard to be a hotshot, and it didn't work out for him. I took my Volvo, and posted a better lap time everytime I went out there. I want to be good, too, and I feel I will, soon enough. Just need some 15 inch Volvo wheels and really good tires(to stay in class) and go from there.
I remember my w- body, a '95 Cutlass Supreme SL 4 door. I had the 16's, but man, what an understeering pig:p Doesnt help that the rear suspension is so freakin' unique that not too many companies make anything for it.
also, check out www.scca.com and see what region is in your area, and go to their website. |

#29, oh snap you had a Cutlass? Which 16s were yours the 5 spokes, or the skinny sawbladed split spokes? I am also looking on ebay for a good cheap RWD starter car or something light. |

I don't imagine it doing bad. Basically a JDM Bluebird, I'd do a search and see what you find. |
