Description:
Heh... y'all have probably never seen the interior of the Mirage, eh? Well, here it is... the "racing" pedals were there when I bought the car... the steering wheel cover and fuzzy dice are my "mods" :P

If you look through the bottom hole of the steering wheel, you can see the gap where a radio should be... and yes, the A/C still blows ice-fucking-cold. ^_^

is that steering wheel cover the "leather" one? The dic kick ass too. I got a pair for my truck, and am getting a pair for the Monte as well.

...and hell, while I'm at it, here's a shot of the WORST condition part of the car... the front driver's side corner.
http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/im_me...hat_a_world.jpg

...oh, and the "wonderful" fitment of my hood, which leads me to believe this car was in a serious accident once... http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/seamless_panel_gap.jpg
The hood also is a bitch to raise, and when it IS opeened, it stayes open by itself... which it is NOT supposed to do.

cool. The only "mod" I have in my truck is a Dodge steering wheel cover I got for christmas last year. I need to get seat covers for the Monte because the fat inspector guy ripped the drivers seat when he sat in it. Asshole. He also decided to remove my lower dash to "make sure the airbag was there" and he lost 2 of the retaining clips. :(

Oddly, the interior of my car looks exactly as it did when it left the factory, with the exception of a light and reset button to let me know the status of my wideband O2 sensor and a small bundle or cables (for the same) which I keep under the driver's seat.

#10, No rust on your car (yet... *evil laughter*) as far as I can see... but panel gap, mismatched paint and genarall chipping/fading of the body is pretty close to my, er, whip.

#11, Oh fine, you forced me to post it... THE rust on my car, with my lazy cheap-ass jury-rigged fix... http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/here_be_rust.jpg

Same kind of clear duct tape I used on the front turn signal to cover the rust to hopefully slow down its spread and not allow water to get in....

#13, According to CarFax, it started life as a rental car out in the Midwest somewhere (I can't remember specifically... Minnesota or Wisconsin or something...) ...then after a year of that (in mid 1996), it was bought by someone who titled it in Merritt Island, and it's been there ever since, until I bought it. (Merritt Island is only a 15 minute drive from here...)

#14, ah. I wonder if the roof rust is because of humidity? I see alot of cars up here by the lakes the have strictly roof/hood/trunk rust and nothing else.

#16, Common in Minnesota and Wisconsin because of the lakes and resulting humidity.

The only surface rust I've seen resulted from pieces of rust rolled into the sheet of metal even before it was cut and shaped into a body panel (communist manufacturing quality FTW).

Most Mirage/Colt/Summit coupes of this generation that I've seen have trouble with rust on the roof... I'm guessing they used subpar steel/materials for that section of the body...
