Why is Volvo the only company making practical, relatively affordable, roomy wagons any more? You think there would be a much bigger market for this sort of thing. To bad people are more interested in projecting a fantasy image then actually driving something that fulfills there real needs.

#1, Actually there are plenty of wagons like that on the market now, it's just that they normally call them "crossovers" or "sports tourers."

For some reason "station wagon" is considered taboo now, although I can't see how anyone would think that a station wagon is less cool than a minivan or sport utility.

#2, Right, I know the crossovers etc., but why do they have to be disguised as SUVs? I think wagons are practical, utilitarian and therefore very cool.

#3, Not to mention far more stylish. I would think that automakers would be able to do a lot more with styling on a station wagon, rather than those bloated, jelly-bean crossovers.

Look at the Chevy Nomad. Will any minivan, SUV, or crossover ever be that stylish? Will they ever be as fondly remembered?

#3, indeed. I like the true truck SUVs, like the Wagoneer, original Cherokee, early Blazers and Broncos, Ramchargers, Traildusters, first run Explorers, S10 Blazers and stuff like that.

#10, Nah, I just miss my huge boat. I like the 850 very much, but I should have bought a 740 instead. Manual, RWD, turbo ! Now I got manual, FWD and N/A.. still, I really like it.
