It was considered at one time the worst car in Britain.

I'm guessing they don't make these anymore what with the Vivaro and restyled GM vans.

Still is.

May the Uplander die, and soon.

#8, The Pontiac version is dead, and the Buick version is also dying. Ford is killing the Freestar, too. IMHO the minvan segment is dying, and it's now a luxo-van era. :(

The Japanese have pretty much taken over the minivan market... and they did it the right way, by actually building QUALITY vehicles and keeping them up-to-date... the "best" American minivans are still the Chryslers, and they're 10 years behind the Japanese vans. Hell, even the Kia/Hyundai vans are better.

#11, Yes. Yes. Yes. We need the euro/british Focus, the Galaxy, the Mondeo, and the Euro Range is MUCH better engineered truck than what we get. The diesels get around 35 MPG too which is GREAT for a truck. I do wish Mitsubishi would bring the L200 over here, though.

The Saturn Relay is the next to be axed.

#13, Good. I think Saturn is becoming the US Opel. I love the new Aura, and the Sky. I wish we would get the Tigra here as an SC series replacement.

Things are starting to look somewhat good for GM, the new Saturn Outlook is being well received.

It appears that GM has accepted that if they ARE going to go down, they're gonna go down fighting, with very well-designed/engineered/built vehicles... it seems everything GM is coming out with lately is very well-thought out. (the exceptions being vehicles that are merely being facelifted/stuffed with bigger engines, but are still on old cruddy chassis, i.e. Monte Carlo)

...and GM's next round of minivans will be based on the Lambda platform of the Saturn Outlook and GMC Arcadia, so they might actually not be crap.

GM may still keep going on a downward spiral and may eventually go bankrupt, but at least they won't be doing it with subpar vehicle anymore.

#17, what about Ford? The US branch seems to have no idea how to handle things. The new guy from American Airlines thinks the solution is to sell Jaguar, Volvo, and Aston and kill off Mercury.

#18, Boeing, me thinks. I agree with DiRF. I think GM can turn it all around.

It should be interesting to see if any of the domestic manufacturers really are caught in a death spiral. GM looks like it may be able to recover, but Ford seems to be caught in a terminal state of dumb.

Mercury should've been axed ten years ago.
