I've mentioned before, but somehow I'm captivated by wrecks like these. Mighty machnines, built with only one purpose in mind, now stitting abandoned, silent... never to bring destruction, to kill, to mangle with its steel tracks again...
The only thing that captivates me more is the fact that sometimes these beasts are restored, sometimes even to driving condition but various collectors and museums.

See, that would be the interesting thing about living in a country that has experienced warfare recently. Lots of cool hardware left over.

#3, A school around here was built on a former WWII bombing range... they had to evacuate the school and close it down when kids kept on digging up unexploded 50-year-old ordnance...

Muzeum Broni Pancernej in PoznaƱ has restored to fully running condition dug up wrecks of a StuGIV and a German halftrack, with 100% original running gear, acessories, etc. They go from this: http://youtu.be/2RGy3qo0A6A to this: http://youtu.be/ZYHgWFIIZHQ and this: http://youtu.be/TOWOOisbKdU. Compared to these restoring a Sherman Firefly or IS-2 heavy tank is easy peasy. The guy responsible for all these awesome restorations, Major Ogrodniczuk is on the second vid in the hatch to the left of the gun.
