The Royal family rode almost exclusively in Daimlers* up until the '50s, when Rolls Royces were then favored by the royal family... the two Bentley State Limosines were the first non-Rolls Royces to be used extensively by the royal family in almost a half-century...

*The company owned by Jaguar, of course, not the other one.
