How do speed cameras operate, anyway? Do they take two pictures of every car they see or do they operate off a K/Ka band radar?

#3, Laser would be too inaccurate. Every laser device Ive seen is like a gun in that it has to be aimed directly at a reflective part of the car.. I cant see how that can be automated.
So whos gonna make the ultimate sacrifice and crash into one of these??
