Might as well put this here, to get people's opinions... since I finally now have a car with a working CD player, I decided to make my very first burned CD (yes, unbelievably, I have never burned a music CD until now) Here's what I chose...

1. Grateful Dead - Touch of Grey
2. Karaja - She Moves
3. Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
4. Blümchen - Heut` Ist Mein Tag
5. Juliet - Avalon
6. Disturbed - Land of Confusion
7. Dido - White Flag
8. Coldplay - Clocks
9. The Cardigans - My Favorite Game
10.Britney Spears - Toxic
11.Blondie - Maria
12.Johnny Cash - Hurt
13.Dr. Bombay - Calcutta (Taxi, Taxi, Taxi)
14.Hermes House Band - Country Roads
15.Run Lola Run - Believe
18.Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything About You
17.Bad Religion - I Love My Computer
18.Blümchen - Bicycle Race
19.Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

1- eh, not representative of the dead and what they can do.... I'm not a dead fan, either.

2-Not familiar with that one.

3-I like Cee-lo but Danger Mouse is the most overrated DJ in history... his music sounds like Gap commercials to me. That album was fantastic though, very poetic lyrics and lots of Cee-lo.

4-Not familiar

5-Not familiar

6-those dicks are from the same neighborhood on the south side as me... still hate them. in fact, no one should listen to nu metal period.

7-Dido is pretty cool. If it weren't for the way she became a willing and attentive whore to the commercial industry after five minutes of background success on an Eminem song I would probably admit to iiking her, but I won't.

8-adult contemporary hell.

9-The Cardigans are fantastic. Love Me, Love Me was great... crazy to think all those air heads went about listening to it like a love sond without a trace of irony.

10-no (un-banworthy) comment

11-not really too familiar with Blondie

#6, continued...

12-again, not nearly representative of what the man can do. A bad cover of a song I liked when I was a melodramatic teenager. <3 the man in black, have from way before it was fashionable to be so. I have a Johnny Cash Xmas record.

13-Not Familiar

14-see above

15-cool movie

16-not familiar. sounds teen-angst-ish.

17-bad music

18-not familiar

19-Queen is a great band that I can't listen to all that often 'cause then I remember they suck. Man I wanna hear some Queeeeen!!! *dusts of records*

OK DiRF, sorry if I was blunt... didn't wanna be a dick but I figured you asked so I'd be frank.

Rundown for those not familiar... my take on all the songs, and maybe I'll say why I chose them...

1. One of my favorite songs from when I was a little kid in the '80s.
2. Used in that video compilation of Isuzu Gemini commercials... I pretty much like any and all techno/orwhatever.
3. I don't know why, but I just adore it... their performance at the MTV Awards in Star Wars gear kicked ass.
4. Made popular on the internet by YTMND sites... again, Techno/orwhatever.
5. Used in that video of all the cars crashing in that Russian tunnel. Techno/orwhatever.
6. Yes, I have the original by Genesis, I just happen to prefer the Disturbed version.
7. Just love it... I like love ballads sometimes...
8. Liked it from a few years ago... decided to throw it on the disc when I had room left.
9. GRAN TURISMO 2 BITCHES :D
10. I hate Britney, but god damn that song is addictive. Awesome beat to it.
11. Always liked Blondie... one of her newer songs, and I think it's fantastic.

12. Not much of a Johnny Cash fan, but that song is just wicked powerful... I don't like the NIN original as much.
13. It was used in AMV Hell 3... it's so goofy that I have to love it.
14. It was used in AMV Hell 3... yes, it's a cover of the John Denver song, but has a great house beat to it.
15. It was used in AMV Hell 3... never seen the movie, but the song is addictive.
16. It was used in another AMV... probably my least favorite on the disc, but I still like it.
17. It was used in AMV Hell 3... it's just a naughty geeky song.
18. It was used in a Golden Boy AMV... I have the original Queen version, but I like this techno/orwhatever version better.
19. Wayne's World. *headbangs*

#5, 1.) Not a Grateful dead fan, but I have heald mild interest in 60's era hippy rock
2.) Not familiar
3.) Way to overplayed, not a fan of preachy hip hop based pop, although I did like the mix work a little
4.) Not familiar
5.) Not familiar
6.) I liked some of Disturbed's work off their Sickness LP, good thrash metal type stuff
7.) Dido is okay, she sold out her one popular single, but she's a great voice talent, very soothing
8.) Coldplay is shmaltzy prom music with Alphaville overtones, they get a big meh
9.) I liked Lovefool and Favorite Game but am not really familiar with most of their other offerings
10.) More Britney Spears sluttery, I could get scabies standing downwind of that record
11.) I liked Blondies industrial type work with Heart of Glass and Deborah Harry had a hell of a set of lungs on her, I don't like her as much as Stevie Knicks or Chrissy Hynde, but it's all good.

12.) I love Johnny Cash but his last album was just painful to listen to, it was just a sallow respesentation of the man's great country western past
13.) Weird and quirky
14.) Not familiar
15.) Not familiar
16.) Three Days Grace sucks, their uninspired numetal crap, sorry
17.)Meh

I received a new CD/MP3 Player for the Tahoe from my girlfriend for Christmas... it is AMAZING how many songs can fit on one disc. So far I have put 6 jam band albums on one disc, and every Les Claypool recording I have on another. The plan is to reduce the number of discs that I have to carry around.
