Description:
Ford Transit Connect

They're gonna start selling this in America in the near future, imported from Turkey... then in 2009 Ford will start actually manufacturing it in the States.... hopefully this will pave the way to bring the normal van-sized Transit stateside? I do so love the large Transit.

You don't need to say "Euro Galaxy"... it's the ONLY Ford Galaxy... the sedan with a similar name sold in America in the '60s was the Galaxie.

But, anywho, the Transit, Galaxy, and S-Max all need to be brought to America... Ford's American van department has been sucking for a long time... it's not that they always sucked, they just want to keep doing things the way they've always done them, which just won't work in today's market.

The Econoline is so desperately outdated and the Freestar and Monterey are obviously such nonentities in the marketplace that Ford is pulling out of the minivan market completely.

#3, Yay Euro vans. Hopefully by 2015 or so we get all European cars and vans with only America specific trucks.

#6, The Japanese can continue to offer us cars tailored to our tastes... they seem to be the only ones still capable of doing that.

#7, No kidding... Honda especially... they seem more adept at suiting American tastes than their own Japanese home-market's... they're fourth in the JDM behind Toyota, Nissan, and Suzuki.

But I have to say, every single Honda I've ever driven (including quite a few during my recent car shopping expedition), I hated the ergonomics... just something about the dashboard layout, the seating position, everything, the steering wheel, even the ignition key location, it just feels wrong... my sister's Accord feels awfully awkward to sit in.

But the Cavalier, the G20, the Mirage, the Capri, the Tracker, the VW Cabrio... they all felt "right"... so I know it's not just one *kind* of car I'm used to... it's just that Hondas are well... different.

#11, I drove a '95 Civic DX (I think) four door once...it felt *very* similar to my mother's old 2000 Kia Sephia.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

#11, Hondas are damn uncomfortable cars. A friend has a 2000 Accord EX with leather and the seats suck. I also rode in a 2004 Accord LX with cloth seats and it was uncomfortable too.

#13, one of the more comfortable cars I've owned (I'm 6'2") was an '86 Honda Accord - it had tons of leg room...

most imports - hell most mid-sized cars are too small for my tastes. My '97 Altima was way too tiny and drove me nuts - but hell everything is small compared to a Caprice ;) Now that is a comfortable car - it's like driving around in a sofa. The mountaineer is not bad either - the monte on the other hand has some fairly cruddy seats - I just can't find a position (insert joke here) I like.

#17, What, so that only midgets can drive it? You do realize that this is NOT at all related to the full-size Transit... right? This thing is SMALL. That's why the roof *seems* so high, but it really isn't... this thing is about the same size as a Focus wagon, if not a little smaller.

I, personally, have not felt that Hondas are uncomfortable, they're just awkward.
