Description:
Ford Transit Connect

They're gonna start selling this in America in the near future, imported from Turkey... then in 2009 Ford will start actually manufacturing it in the States.... hopefully this will pave the way to bring the normal van-sized Transit stateside? I do so love the large Transit.

#19, I see. I was attempting to make it's proportions more like the Scion or Element, which I assumed would be it's market competition.

#21, Actually, this is not aimed to be sold to the hip crowd, this is aimed at the "Gotta hold a lot of crap but get 35mpg" crowd... it has sliding doors for cryin' out loud... that's soooo not hip, but soooo unbelievably useful :D

#23, Actually, Scion and Honda OVERestimated the hipsters... the people buying the xBs and Elements are much older than Scion or Honda expected... people are overwhelmingly buying them for utilitarian reasons... I mean, seriously, those are some pretty nice cargo-carrying vehicles for a pretty low price... this will probably be even cheaper, and has more room... I really hope this works out well for Ford. I really do.

#24, Duh-er! Let's cancel all our long running sports cars and then bitch about how old our average customer is! Duh-er! Then we can start a brand of rebadged Echos, 'cause that's what the kids really want! Duh-er!

#24, I'm starting to like the Scion and even the Element - when I first saw them it was a shock! - but it's worn off

And they had to make it bigger :(

I like the first generation vanlets, but the new one just looks awkward.

I still want them to bring the damn Transit Courier to America! A well-engineered, roomy little minivan with sliding doors, based on the platform of the Mazda2? Yes please.

I miss my Transit Connect work van. I've been stuck in nothing but shambling, high-mileage Caravan C/Vs for the past few weeks since my manager had mine transferred to another location that needed a van. I don't know when I'll get it back.

#29, how's the popscie-stick transmission holding up in that thing?

#30, Still working adequately since they fixed the one that worked in second gear only for 90% of the time...
