I don't want to start a debate here, my opinion will not be swayed anyway, but... Vipers are crap. They look like cartoon cars, they're cramped, crude and cheap. They go very fast in a straight line and around corners, too, but that's not too much of an acheivement with an engine the size of some small homes. wiiiide tires and stiff suspension. They have no handling to speak of, zero adjustability, zero feedback, zero delicacy. You get to enjoy all this while looking at giant body panel gaps, interior pieces with mold lines that haven't been shaved off and a shifter more suited to a truck. Garbage. The Miata, on the other hand might not vicariously enlarge your penis but it's full of fun and a true sports car.

Yes, the Miata may be a better driver's car, but a Viper will never make people think you're gay.

#5, Dunno about you, but I'm secure enough in my manhood that I don't worry about other's perceptions of my sexuality, I wouldn't drive around in a MKI MR2 otherwise.

#7, I was unaware MkI MR2s had any connotation of sexuality... I thought they simply meant "I like cheap mid-engined vehicles that aren't Fieros" :P

#8, In my mind they don't, but I've been told it's "cute" in a kind of sarcastic tone.

I'd rather have a Viper. The only MR2 I think is a girl's car is the Spyder. I only see Vipers about every 2 months around here, while Miatas are numerous.

I've sat in a Viper. I don't fit. I fit in a Corvette though... :)

#9, A baby grizzly bear is cute. That doesn't mean it can't rip your arms off.

#2, Oh, it's on now boy!!!!:p

But seriously, I know the Viper has has some dubious design issues, such as a 2-valve pushrod engine more suited to a heavy duty truck and the first gen RT/10s having many front end parts from the Dodge Dakota. But I just can't bring myself to hate a tube-framed, torquey, FR, two seater sports car that can pull 11s on the quarter mile, and pull off .103 g on the skidpad, and best of all it's a domestic machine that can undercut Italian MR racers. I know, I know, you can't be swayed but I just thought I'd stand up for one of my favorite cars.

#15, I respect that, you have good reasons for liking them, but they still aren't for me. I had no idea they shared suspension parts with the Dakota!

#16, Yeah, Dodge's budget was wound pretty tightly when the first R/T 10s came out, they didn't know what the production costs were gonna be so they were stringent with their money. This also was the reason they just stuck to the 2V design instead of opting for 4V aspiration and no traction control or ABS at first. It was a very spartan vehicle, just built to go fast. Which is, of course, why I like it so much

#16, not to mention HVAC controls and the same block as a V10 Ram. Apparently the Viper has a V10 only because Lutz wanted to see if it would fit. It did.
