Description:
I don't like drifting (as in doriftooooo) but I sure like sliding. You know, breaking traction because of speed not because you want to show off.

Opel Manta 400.

I enjoy watching people with fine car control control a car. To me, whether or not there's a practical application of those skills doesn't really matter.

There are aspects of all types of racing that I enjoy, some more than others. Rally, F1, LeMans, and really any open track racing is seriously entertaining for me whenever I can watch it. Drifting can be kind of neat, even competitively, but the "sport" itself is such a dumb fad I can't get too much into it, espescially since there's no practical driving in competitions. NASCAR makes me want to fall asleep, crashes are cool and near the last few laps it's kinda tense, but other than that meh.

#2, yeah, I agree that drifting doesn't have much merit as a sport.

#2, #2 and #3, I agree. Just a week ago, a number of drifters apeared on a rally that was held on a race track, and they ruined everything. Instead of just driving the course, they started dispersing all around the track, making donuts, completely ignoring marshals, etc. they even started a fight amongst themselves (quite a few of Polish drifters are gangsta types, with cash god knows from where). Result? Around 120 pissed off people and half of the event cancelled due to falling too far behind schedule. Not to mention the ruined reputation of the few drifters that actually ran the course and didn't harm no one while having fun.
But, hey, it's not everyday when you beat a couple of BMW M5s with a 60hp shitbox (I'm 44th, the 'good drifter' drove a 200SX, he's 41st):
