#5, Agreed. Seems silly to go to all the work and then omit a spacebar that fits with the rest of the keyboard. |

What does an (old) typewriter spacebar look like anyway? I think it's just a lever on the bottom or something. We have my grandpa's old one somewhere. |

I've got several vintage typewriters and on the one that I can see over my shoulder the space bar is a solid bar spanning the entire bottom row of the keyboard, going from one shift key all the way to the other. |

I'd have made it a black bar but with a metal band running around it just like the keys. |
