Damn, I think I want one. True, it's slow (1.5l OHV, 75hp) and handles like a sofa... but there's something retro-cool about it.
And Fiat DOHC engines bolt right in ;)

#2, Lada is a licensed Fiat 124, this is a licensed Fiat 125. Much prettier IMO, not so blocky, more curves and those double headlights... 70s RWD yarrrrr!

One more thing. These two cars (Lada 210x series and FSO 1500) are an interesting story.
Lada after buying a license from Fiat modified the car heavily over the years.
FSO 1500 on the other hand remained pretty much unchanged.
As for tech level, those cars are also peculiar. Lada has better engines (OHC versus FSOs OHV) and suspension (coil springs at the back versus FSOs leaf springs). The gearboxes are the same, but FSO has better brakes (4 disk setup versus Ladas disk&drum), yet it uses an outdated worm gear steering rack versus Lada's rack and pinion. Odd.

#4, So cannibalize both cars and make one kickass sub-80hp deathtrap!

#5, I'd much rather build a Fiat 125 Acropolis replica. Or maybe a rally version of it.
