Funny thing with the Alfas. Once they were good race cars and bad daily drivers, now they make fantastic daily drivers and meh race cars.

Y'know, even though it's from the boxy/aero '80s... this car is still pretty classy looking.

#4, They make lousy daily drivers here, 'cause it's hard to get parts for them.

#8, I expect you only have the old ones, they were lousy daily drivers unless you were an Alfisti. Good track cars though.

#9, They stopped selling them here in '90 or '91, right around the same time they stopped selling Peugeots and Renaults here. Most of the Alfas one sees in the U.S. are mid to late '80s vintage Veloce spyders.

#10, So you get the old school Alfas. The new ones are much more reliable and user friendly, although the still have that something that makes you smile* not to metion tons of class and style.

* Rode in a 156 2.5l V6. Vrooooooooooo *tacho hits the 5000rpm mark, I get pushed into the seat*AAARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Holy fuck! That thing really was awesome.

#11, This summer, I shall speak with my neighbor who has a 156 (I think) I told you about, and I'll try to bum a ride.

#12, 156 is a late 90s model, don't you mean a 164?

#14, Looks like you're correct, according to wikipedia. I didn't know they sold them here as recently as that.

#15, Yeah I do. What does it have, a 2.5 or 3.0?

#17, 2.5 I think ...

I'll have to confirm that with news pics (lost the camera this winter so I'm getting a new one for my birthday in july) and possibly a video.

I have a number of pictures of 164s, maybe I'll do an Alfa night sometime soon. I have more than enough pics on my HD of various models and vintages.

#16, I remember they were the last of the non-sportscar Italian models sold here. Until Maserati came back here a few years back with their Quattroporte.
