#1, As would I, C5's make me happy in the pants, and they're easy to find under $30,000 with less than 50K miles on them. Not to mention that IRS, LS1 and fiberglass also make me happy in the pants.

I've never been much of a Corvette fan, mainly because (since the C4, at least) they've always struck me as having too many pretensions of sophistication. I suppose I'd consider one if they offered a truly stripped model without all the ridiculous sensors and computer-actuated everything, but even the Z06 doesn't really fit that mold.
I will say that I've driven my father's C5 a little, and it felt like a reasonably good package. I just wish it was a more simple and straightforward car. |

#4, Now, this is just my opinion, I've never driven a Corvette before. Saying that, I've always thought of them as a sports car that was a step above other offerings in the way of comfort and technology. It wasn't just some powerful hammer of a car like the Mustang Cobra (morese the 03-04 models) or the Dodge Viper, it actually had an air of sophistication about it and that's what made it special. Sure you could have some Spartan corner carving track car or you could have one the offers more comfort and handling for everyday driving (around the nursin home :p). Pardon me if I sound like some kind of fanboy douche, it's just the way I feel. |

It's the difference between a sports car and a GT, really. In my opinion, the 'Vette falls on the wrong side of the divide.
It'd still be plenty comfortable without the:
Heads-up display
Integrated air pressure sensors in each tire
Automated driver's seat and tilt steering wheel with memory (retracts when you turn the key off, tightens up when you turn the key on)
Programmable remote door locks
Multifunction gauge cluster
Dual zone climate control
And probably a few other things I've forgotten.

#6, There's also the fact that it seems to be the quintesential (I've used that word twice this week, yay for me) old man's car, I very rarely ever see anyone under the age of 45 driving it. |

The only Corvette I ever drove was one identical to this : http://www.corvetteblogger.com/imag...nt/041006_1.jpg
A '68 convertible, red with black top and interior, automatic. It was extremely cramped, uncomfortable and it mostly drove like shit, but the feeling of the car, plus the engine, make it quite desirable, not mentioning the tons of looks you get in that ! |
