#2, Kid named Tom I graduated HS with had one, before that he had what I believe was an 88 or 89 5-series, don't recall the exact model. He was a cool guy, his dad either owned or worked at a BMW dealership.

Also, it's not uncommon to find early to mid nineties 325s, 318s, 525s, and 740s around my neck of the woods for under 10K

#5, You can get a NICE BMW for between $6500 and $10,000, anything between $5000 or $3000 might be a little spotty espescially if it's a higher end model. But the place where you shop is also a factor.
