#2, Doesn't Tomica normally make higher-quality diecasts? This looks somewhere between Maisto and Matchbox levels of detail and quality. The body detailing isn't bad but the wheels and axles look like they came from a 25-cent Chinese toy and only the headlights appear to be painted. I guess my standards of what one can get for $1 these days are too high.

And in response to your edited comment, I am not trying to start shit. I am only commenting on the car.

#3, Yeah, Tomica DOES usually make higher-quality diecasts... this one was a special limited edition in this color... it was some kinda promotion... the normal Tomica line Vitz is a lighter shade of blue, almost turquoise.

[edit] Yeah, sorry, the original edit of #2 was uncalled for on my part, sorry.

#4, I've seen Tomica models (and have one) with much better detail and more painted parts, that's why I wondered.
Here's what mine looks like: http://www.fk.urban.ne.jp/home/keny...ICA/TO-MINI.jpg

I just noticed this Vitz appears to have an opening hood. If so, I give it extra points for that.

...and yes, I have quite a few other Tomica diecasts... my Initial D ones are quite nicely detailed http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/initial_d_1-64.jpg (the back six are not Tomica but rather Jada)

...and yeah, the Vitz's hood opens alright.

...and another Tomica diecast I have that I'm proud of... http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/primera.jpg basically the JTCC version of MY car.

#7, Yeah, those are all nicely detailed. I imagine they cost a fair amount more too.

#8, Of the nine:

-Panda AE86 Trueno, Yellow FD3S RX-7, White AE85 Levin, Black R32 Skyline GT-R, Blue Sileighty, and White FC3S RX-7 were all in one set, which I managed to get exTREMEly cheaply. (mispelled eBay auction, I found it by accident)
-Green S13 Silvia was a standard BIN auction... the guy didn't know it was an Initial D car, so I snapped it up quickly.
-Panda AE86 Levin was a standard BIN auction too... and it isn't *officially* an Initial D diecast, but close enough to Wataru's turbo Levin.
-White Evo IV was bought through another site, another not-exactly-official Initial D, but close enough to Seiji's "MONSTOR" Evo... it's missing the MONSTOR decal on the hood, but then again, the *official* Tomica Initial D diecast of the car doesn't have it either.

Heh, I actually figured out where this one came from (as it's not a "standard" release color) https://tomica.fandom.com/wiki/Tomica_Anniversary_24_II
