If I might nitpick, there was no lava flow from Mt St. Helens. That looks like mud.

It is a Volvo, but I think it's actually a 144, not a 244.

I just did some research and found out that this car was owned by Reid Blackburn, a photographer for National Geographic. In the area to shoot some video footage of the quiet volcano (it had made nary a peep for two days prior to the eruption), he was shooting from his car when the volcano blew.

His body was found in this car, along with his intact camera, which had apparently been rolling during the eruption and his subsequent death. Unfortunately, the film in the camera was water damaged (from all the mud) and could not be salvaged.
