#1, Is that easy to do? I bet this one has that crazy diamond stitched orange piping on the black leather, too. |

#2, I'd say it's impossible without some serious modding. It has a haldex clutch instead of a real central differential, which is totally shit. |

#3, Haldex is the devil.. Seriously, Volvos are amazing cars and all but don't EVER consider an AWD model, they completly suck. I've heard of some people "disconnecting" the AWD system on V70s/XC70s and using it as a RWD. |

#4, I never will consider ANYTHING awd unless it has a proper center diff. All 'intelligent, electronically controlled blah blah blah' crap can eat dick. |

#6, For me it has to have either a viscous diff or the ultimate badassness: Torsen LSD. The best and the most expensivve LSD you can get, 100% mechanical. Viscous are getting more popular tough, as it's easy to make the 'active', computer controlled.
Of course, a true 4x4 needs no ghey center diffs ;) |

#7, I wish my true 4x4 beater sonoma accually had a working 4x4... i think the front diff or the transfer case may be fudged. |

#8, I'm thinking the latter. Fudged diff doesn't cut drive to the wheels I think.
As for making AWD RWD the first step is to get rid of front driveshafts. I guess you also need to get rid of centre diff and put a standard driveshaft in it's place. Also, i don't know how would rear driveshafts/gearbox hold up, after all they were not designed with 100% power going to the rear wheels in mind. |
