Description:
End result of the Chevy dealership's need to use an impact wrench on my shit. Any guesses as to what ghetto method I used to remove it?

God, I hate when this shit happens, and I know a thing or two about nut problems (tee hee tee hee). If some dealership did this to me I woulda taken the impact wrench to the guy's nipples.

well, this was the end result. they were so freakin' tight that I stripped the outside of this one and had to resort to other means to remove it

#5, Really? I've had some tight nuts (tee hee tee hee) but I never came across something that the impact either couldn't budge or would strip. It's almost like the nut would've had to expand.

#8, Actually no, I usually take my car into my dad's buddy's garage. Guy's kind of a cheap ass and uses some minor parts I've had to get replaced but for the most part he's reputable. Either him or my uncle, who I actually trust more. And if all else fails me and my buddy will tear into it in his garage. If we have to we'll take it to another garage but usually a franchise place as most of the ma and pa garages we've tried are, like you said, dickweeds who I wouldn't trust with a screwdriver let alone a hydraulic lift or impact wrench.

I had this happen to a lug on my Jeep. Stupid thing rounded trying to get it off with a tire iron.
I ended up getting the tightest socket I could find and hammering it onto the socket. Worked like a charm and I promptly repalced the lug.

#10, I'm not much of a mechanic, so I usually have to swallow my pride and let someone else take the wrench to my ride.

#11, Haha, I had to do that a couple times, once I had to file down a socket to fit into place.
