One is an alternative name for a Gnome engine. The other is the correct name as it was named after it's inventor - Felix Wankel.

Pity all the poor RX7 owners in that state who wanted that vanity plate, only to find out it's on a DeLorean.
Kinda like how California plate "SUPRA 1" is on a black Cadillac Allante.

But the correct name for the Wankel is the Wankel rotary engine.

An interesting and well-done build. My only nitpick is the fact that it uses a starter-button....a silly fad in far too many contemporary automobiles.
