I've mentioned it a few too many times before, but my father had the Premier's rebadged sibling, the Dodge Monaco... my dad always had an affection for French cars because they rode so smoothly, and the Monaco filled that perfectly. He also liked that these had longitudely-mounted V6's, so working on the engines was very easy.

The Renault/AMC-developed platform the Premier and Monaco were on was later modified to become the Chrysler LH-platform.

#2, Yuppers. I still love when my father saw a DeLorean at a car show once (he didn't know the DeLorean had the PRV also)... he looked at the open engine bay, and all of a sudden realized, "That engine looks REALLY familiar..."

My father was truly sad when he had to replace his Monaco... those cars WERE lemons... they had so many reliability problems (well, they're French, whatdya expect?) but since he did most of the repair work on cars himself (and rather well, actually), he was able to keep it running in good form for quite a while... but it eventually became too troublesome... he seriously could not find another car in his pricerange that rode as nicely... he finally acquiesced and bought his '97 LHS since it had the LH-platform with a longitudely-mounted (3.5L) V6... but he still said it didn't ride as nice as the Monaco.

It took me a while to realize that the Monaco/Premier was actually a LARGE midsize sedan... much bigger than the K-car based vehicles...

#5, What about Chrysler? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. Are you saying Chrysler is a larger company than most people realize, or are you trying to say there was a Chrysler version of the Premier/Monaco (which there wasn't)?

If the sole point of that post was to be pointless and confusing, you have succeeded.
