Rover 75.
Not a bad-looking car, looks like a Jaguar. |

Richard Porter of evo and Sniffpetrol fame bought one and feels compelled to defend his purchase vehemently often. Apparently the editor jokingly fired him (the old man drives a Clio 197 and a Zonda) and Gordon Murray teases him relentlessly.
BTW, I see both these and the MG versions up from Mexico occasionally. Once I saw an MG V8 model with front and read Z06 chrome plate holders... odd.

They were great, if hardly exciting cars, based on a highly modified E39 platform. BMW didn't spare expense when building this car. |

Love the 75s. There is a very sophisticated, relaxed feel to them. |

#9, No, no. The feel elegant and luxurious. The photo doesn't really show just how nice the car looks. I'd love to have one as a daily driver. |

Alright. Seeing as a British perspective is asked for, a British perspective is what you guys are gonna get. And I'm sorry, it's not a good one.
In Britain, if you drive a Rover, you are labelled as dim witted, slow and old and someone who shouldn't be allowed on the road. 9 times out of 10, this is most definitely the case. I’ve seen drivers of Rovers crawl around corners a 7mph. I’ve seen them going the wrong way around roundabouts. I’ve seen them take hundred of attempts to squeeze into the world’s biggest parking space. ARGH!
The older generation loved these cars and I don't have a problem with that. Makes them a damn sight easier to spot on the roads. They feel it's a part of their heritage and the 75 in particular reeks of this past glory. You can easily see this parked up outside a thatched cottage by a village green where a fete is taking place in aid of the local church.
So, would you catch me driving one? Maybe if I was called Ernest and I needed to collect my pension. |

#11, Sensekhmet, take one. Take ten. Just get them out of the hands of the old people on our roads! |

#16, I have a strange feeling someone might have done in my crazy country. They definitely rallied the MG ZRs and raced the MG ZS' in Touring Car racing. It was nice to see them get smashed up. It's like Jeremy Clarkson loved seeing the Vauxhall Vectras lose

#15, Gladly. I don't give a damn about what people think of my car (otherwise I'd wash mine more often than rally rules force me to). |

#16, Why the hell not? 'You can race anything' is my philosophy since I'm not mad about winning but about racing. |

#14, Sounds like the equivalent of Mercury, Lincoln, Buick and Cadillac here. |
