Description:
My friend's 2007 Saturn ION parked next to her parents' 2007 Saturn Aura. Her sister drives an SL-sedan, and her parents' Aura was a replacement for their older ION.

When a dealer knows how to treat people right, they tend to come back.

Over 10 years later... still going strong http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/canuckistan_ion.jpg This car's been across the continent several times, and now resides in Soviet French Canuckistan.

Tangentially related, I ran across this at random yesterday.

I can only imagine how exciting that bidding war must have been.

#22, I'm amused by the fact that it appears to not only be a base-model stripper, but that's not terribly more than one would have paid in 2009 for a left-over '07 that had been sitting on a dealer lot for a couple years.

Well, the car made one last road trip, from Canada back to Florida... and has been sold.

My friend got a new job in the middle of a big city where public transport will negate the need for a car... besides, it'd be more trouble than it's worth to ship and process the paperwork to import the car to Finland.

[edit] Oh, and the Aura is still around. It's doing ok, but certainly showing its age. I'm surprised that, even though it shares a platform with the Malibu at my work, the maneuverability is shockingly different. The Malibu has a very tight turning circle (even tighter than the EV Focus), yet the Aura turns like a super-tanker.

#24, I know I'd sure want to have the only Saturn Ion in Finland.

Scratch that, I wouldn't want a Saturn Ion anywhere.

Years ago, I thought the Saturns still used the plastic doors. I made a fist at the door to punch one at the annual car to show my dad. I stopped because the Silverado became available to sit in.

Later, I found out they stopped doing that years ago. Man, I would have been in BIG BIG trouble.

The plastic panels may not dent, but they damn sure chip and scratch easily if my mother's VUE is any indication.

Speaking of dealers. There's a group here that we've bought cars from for 15 years. :D That should tell you something about lifelong customers.

#24, Well, the Aura is gone, too. It started becoming a cornucopia of electromechanical glitches.

Her parents replaced it with a Kia Soul. The seat height is perfect for getting in and out of easily.
