Two awesome examples of automotive greatness, for two very different reasons.

Two trucks.

I'll take the red one.

I'll take the purple lorry, then.

(What's this, I used another British-ism? Inconceivable!)

I'd prefer to take the "truck" that regularly mops up at LeMans, thank you.

#9, No, you didn't.

You're free to go right back to rolling naked in photographs of Jeremy Clarkson.

#10, what? I don't know what his opinion of the Viper is and I'm not really a fan, either.

#13, It's more than that. I'm sure most are tired of hearing this but since I guess you've never read one of my many Viper hate posts here goes:

ridiculous (IMO) cartoon styling

crude

cheap (not meaning inexpesive)

lacking in feedback and finesse

image

That pretty much sums it up for me. I'm not trying to sway anyone or talk shit, I just dislike them so much I have to let it out.

Tons of grip doesn't equal handling and tons of power doesn't equal driving satisfaction. If it were in a more traditional muscle car shape I'd love it, but as it stands it just a "sports" car for posing (IMO).

That opinion does not bother me, for one. That opinion coming so vehemently from a person who's never driven one is another matter.

Hating a car for its styling or dipshit fanboy following is one thing, and even just mentioning "supposedly they're gutless" or "I've heard the handling is unimpressive" is reasonable. But you seem to genuinely, passionately hate these cars because you read that someone else didn't like the handling. It's just frickin' weird.

#15, Well, I think many of us on this site make sound judegments based on what we've heard and read throughout our travels as serious car enthusiasts - how many of us have driven even a fraction of our dream cars first hand?

No, I've never driven one, but I've read countless reviews painting a picture of a car that is very much the opposite of my style, sorry Skid. I suppose if I was gaga for it, still never having turned a wheel in one, that would be OK?

#15, Furthermore, your argument kind of self destructs when you say that making a decision based upon someone claiming the handling is unimpressive is reasonable - that's what I've done and it's based upon multiple reviews, both favorable and against the car... even the favorable reviews describe a car with a surfeit of grip and cornering forces versus any kind of meaninful body control/ride/adjustability balance.

#16, Again, it's not the "how" I find annoying, but the "why" and the "to what degree." If you were gaga over this car because you read somewhere that it has fantastic handling and that's all you could talk about every time you see one, then no, that wouldn't be OK. It would be frickin' weird, also.

I get a rough idea of the cars that I like and don't like. I have dream cars, also. But I don't freaking preach about the virtues of my favorite cars or go into diatribes about the flaws of those that I don't like every freaking time I see one.

I mean, I don't like Lancer Evolutions, based off of weird styling, what I consider to be less-than-impressive specifications, and their rather fantatical fanbase. But I would still drive one given the chance. For all I know, I might love one if I drove it.

...and actually, thinking that someone who doesn't care for the Viper is going by Jeremy Clarkson's opinion is actually quite flawed... Jeremy Clarkson LOVES the Viper.

#18, Well I'm passionate about it, not tyring to make your life harder. I'm a loud-mouthed hater and I don't really give a fuck who I offend, again, sorry.
