I wonder if the car comes loaded with the crack that the owner is smoking

I think it's a decent price. Don't see many of em around.

I'd sooner pay 3 grand for a box with bike tires taped on it.

#5, Isn't that what the Yugo is?

I always wanted to see someone take a Yugo and turn it into a sleeper, just for laughs.

Imagine the look on some riceboy's face if he lost to one. That alone would be worth the time and money it would take to make one of these fast (and it'd take a damn ton of both).

#7, Pfft. Just swap in a 16v 1.2l with a short ratio 6-speed from a Punto, turbo it. Or maybe the new T-Jet (1.4l turbo, 150 or 180hp) would fit.

#10, I imagine you'd have to trailor it behind the car.

One of the big factors in most Yugo's early deaths was the timing chain, which required changing ever 35K or so, but many owners neglected to do this destroying the engine.

I saw a decent orange one once on EBAY with a brand new paintjob and no rust with a "Buy it Now" price of $350. I *almost* bought it.

The ad said it was a registered, driving car, it just needed a muffler and a new gas gauge.
