Car and Driver MURDERED this car in their 1968 review of it. It pissed GM off so bad they pulled their ads from all magazines under their publisher for something like a year. Even Frigidaire no longer advertised in Modern Bride.
Among C&D's complaints:
*Underpowered
*Noisy
*Felt as though the skinny wheels would break off under hard cornering
*Used an overhead camshaft that actuated rocker arms to open the valves (?!?!?!)
*The ashtray was set in front of the fresh air vent, which sent ashes all over the passenger compartment
*The steering wheel was angled so that driving it felt like driving a bus
*The liftgate required a hefty pull to open, but had strong hydraulic rams, guaranteeing that every tester got smacked in the nuts with it at least once.
