A racer with chrome centercaps? Something's off.

It's one of the "Black Widows"... some black and white '57 Chevys that did a pretty good job dominating Nascar with their fuel-injection, until Nascar officially banned fuel-injection late in the season.

The 46 was driven by Speedy Thompson, the 49 was driven by Bob Welborn, and the 87 was driven by Buck Baker, who won the championship that year. Other drivers may have driven black widows that season, but I'm not aware of them.

I have a diecast of Buck Baker's http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/57s.jpg The 49 there is Bob Welborn, who won the championship in the Convertibles division that year (he raced in both series)... not sure if his convertible '57 can be considered a black widow.

Highway 61 makes a really good street version of this car in 1:18. I've considered getting it....there's just something too cool about the stripped down 150 model '57 Chevys.

Apparently this car is a 210 and it's for sale locally for $54,995 (it's a Black Widow clone). I just saw it this evening.
