First series bed pins this one as a 1946-1950 model. It also has the very desirable factory winch.

It's very similar to the 1:24 Danbury Mint Power Wagon on my mantle, except red instead of green.

Well, the term "wagon" originated from basically open carriages with which to load stuff into...

"wagon" only came to be known as a closed vehicle because of "station wagons", wagons with a roof that were intended to transport people and goods to and from a train station.

Or I could be completely talking out of my ass.
