I still think it's ugly as sin, but I can't put down the performance. |

Motor Trend recently profiled this thing with the title "Corvette Killer."
I'm sorry, but I've read the stats for this abortion of a car, and apart from 0-60, the Z06 will eat this things lunch. And it will doing while looking better, undoubtedly sounding better, offering a real manual gearbox, and costing about $10,000 less. |

#9, Okay, I've double-checked, and it turns out the Z06 is quicker 0-60, too, and the two cars are now going to go for the same price. Nissan claims the GT-R does 7:38 around the Nurburgring to the Corvette's 7:42, but this is within the realm of "competitive."
Then again, Nissan also claims the car will do 11.7 in the quarter mile with a trap speed of 149 mph. I actually busted out laughing when I read that. Anyone else think that trap speed is a just a *tad* high for an 11 second quarter? |

#9, Corvette Killer, eh? If I had a dime for every car I heard that about; the Dodge Viper, the Ford GT, and Shelby GT500. The fact is that the Z06 delivers hands down the best performance for the price. I'm not say the Viper and the GT don't kick ass in their own right and I'm sure the GT-R will too and despite all the hullabullo it really is cool that the GT-R name is finally coming to north America. |

#12, Paddle shifters are unusual in most cars, so they have an "ooh" and "aah" factor.
Personally, I just don't see how pushing a button to shift is exciting. |

#13, exactly, you really aren't even shifting, it's like an automatic that you have a miniscule amount of control over |

#10, especially an awd car. should have a low 60'. unless it takes 5 seconds for the turbo to spool that doesnt make sense. |

#15, If if it were comically bad turbo lag (like it practically stalls out for 5 seconds), it would still have to have about 900 horsepower to accelerate to 150 mph in 1/4 of a mile. Yet this trap speed is from Nissan themselves, and has been reprinted in numerous magazines.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nissan has made up all the figures for this car. I guess we'll see when it's released, though. |

#13, Rally cars and F1 have those! Paddles = fast!
Only if it's a manual gearbox with hydroelectric/other control, though. And only if it has proper software. Back in 2003 I think, the NGT Modenas with paddle shifters shifted a lot slower than NGT 911s with ol' one metre long shifters. |
