#5, That probably wouldn't fit, these are built on S10 chassis. Unless you wanna channel the thing of course. |

#8, S-series based platform. 1st gen Astros actually had shorter wheelbases than similar vintage ext. cab S-10s. And the wheel wells and gap are pretty much the same, fitting wheels in excess of 17 inches would be a bitch regardless.
And it'd look retarded. No offense, Muntz.

Accually... I think these were built on chassis derived from the fullsize 1500 pickup, not S10 |

#12, Hmmm...I always thought it was S10, I can't remember where I heard it though. I just figured since it shared the same powerplants with the S-series that it was true. |

#13, I remember peeking under an astro to see if it was s10, and nothing matched compared to the chassis i know rather decently well

#14, Well, I knew that the M-platform, if it was based off the S-10, would be a bit different to compensate for the larger body of a fullsized van. And I figured the mechanics would be different too. But are you talking about like totally different springs, K-member, tie rods, ball joints, differential and all that gobbledygook? |

#15, I noticed that the mounting of the rear axle was completely different, and some of the rails had unrecognizable bends |

#16, Hmmmm...perhaps I am mistaken. I guess maybe I got confused because the Sprint was based on an "M" platform too, but that was a FWD subcompact platform only. It changed when GM took over and left the engines to Suzuki. |
