I would say it's a weird color for a utility truck but the local DPW uses older GM trucks with pretty much the same shade. It just doesn't cover the whole truck like this, why paint the bed orange too?

ours are blue for state vehicles in MN. They also have bright orange H2s though for no reason.

#1, It was a very poor paintjob. I couldn't tell if it was an ex-Caltrans truck or not.

They use a bright yellow green color here.
