#5, Indeed.
I don't like or dislike the Forester; it inspires no emotion from me whatsoever.
We have the 2.0XT. It's quick, but that's about it. I do think Subarus are overpriced for what you get. $33,000 and no power seats? Okay then. At least its safe, but I think Eyesight is a gimmick.

Lets see. Nearly a year with a Forester. It's no enthusiast vehicle, but its good for up here. AWD is nice, the Xtronic isn't terrible, and the crash-avoidance is a nice feature. What isn't so fun is coming to a dead halt because the EyeSight thinks the pile of snow in your driveway is an obstacle.
Would I buy one with my money? Probably not. But for my moms, who want safety over being the fastest people on the block, its a good choice. I say its a solid vehicle for people who aren't car people. AWD Toyota Camry or Corolla if you will. I rate it maybe, 7-7.5 out of 10, and I would recommend one to anyone looking for something that does well all-year round.
